After looking online, I found that no one has my shoes on sale. I’ve looked in the department stores… no one has my shoes on sale! I take a stroll down the main street in my hometown and hop into one of my favorite stores downtown Walker, just to take a look around after they have expanded and remodeled. It is looking good in the Walker General Store! There are so many great things to see and buy. I sniff some of their goat’s milk soaps, check out a few of the fun retro candies, head around the corner to see what’s new. And what do you know? There are MY SHOES! And…? They are ON SALE! I am about having a heart attack- I could not find these Minnetonka Moccasins anywhere online for this great of a deal! They were 20% off and no shipping (of course)! I say to myself, “I will shop local more often.”

This is a lesson I have learned over and over again shopping in Walker. Granted, some things may not be cheaper — but there are so many unique things this town and especially the General Store has to offer that you just can’t find online. Besides the great selection of both men’s and women’s Minnetonka Moccasins and accessories there are many fun things to shop for at this store. If you are looking for a souvenir that is out of the ordinary or a last minute necessity you forgot at home, check this place out! And there is usually a sale going on. So if you’re like me and enjoy finding a good deal — you can’t go wrong with the Walker General Store.
